Do it for keeping children safe from harm

In our North & Mid Devon Locality, social workers are supported from two welcoming bases: Barnstaple in the north and Tiverton in the heart of the county. Both locations offer far more than an office—they provide the grounding, balance, and community connection that make great place to live and work.

North Devon

Our North Devon office is located at Taw View in Barnstaple, just a short 35‑minute drive from Junction 27 of the M5. Set beside the stunning Taw Estuary, our spacious workplace offers panoramic views of the water—where wildlife, sailing boats, and local rowing clubs bring the river to life. On clear days, you can even enjoy sweeping vistas out to sea.

Barnstaple and the wider North Devon area are known for their golden beaches, charming villages, rolling countryside, and spectacular coastal paths. It’s a place where an exceptional work‑life balance comes naturally—an ideal setting to live, work, and unwind.

Mid Devon

Our Mid Devon Team is based at Phoenix House, right in the heart of the historic market town of Tiverton. It’s a welcoming, well‑connected base for social workers—just minutes from Junction 27 of the M5 for easy travel, yet surrounded by some of the South West’s most breathtaking landscapes.

From here, you’re perfectly placed to explore the Blackdown Hills, Dartmoor, Exmoor, and stretches of the stunning Devon coastline. It’s an environment that naturally supports reflective practice, wellbeing, and the space to recharge after demanding days.

Mid Devon offers the best of both worlds: a supportive team hub in a thriving community, paired with the peace, beauty, and balance that make a real difference to your professional life and personal wellbeing.
