In the planning team, we are split into two main functions; the strategic planning team and the planning development management team.

We are responsible for ensuring that future development of the county is managed in a way that allows for social, economic and environmental needs. The work we do makes a real difference to future developments and how the environment will look.

There is a huge variety in the work that we do, and you could find yourself managing and developing a range of plans including waste plans, local plans, school placement planning, coordinating input into major proposals and working with partners to prioritise and secure funding for new investments.
