The Economy, Enterprise and Skills Team works to maintain and promote sustainable economic growth throughout the county.
Our team works both independently and alongside external organisations to commission and deliver a variety of activities and projects within Devon. This can range from supporting local enterprises to identify innovative opportunities, to establishing and growing the base of dynamic businesses. We represent Devon County Council on the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership, working alongside the private sector, universities and colleges, to tackle key policy issues and develop all aspects of the local economy.
Within the team we offer business support; undertake economic research to develop policy; provide accessible skills to those that need them most; attract new and dynamic businesses into Devon, as well as funding opportunities; and oversee infrastructure projects, including high-speed broadband provision and the construction of high-tech business parks.
Our ambition is to create a more productive and prosperous Devon where everyone has the opportunity to realise their potential. Roles within the team include Senior Economic Development Officer, Economic Development Officer Economic Development Assistant, Team Manager, Programme Manager and Programme Officer
