Our aim is to increase the economic welfare, social mobility, literacy and numeracy, and health and wellbeing of adults in Devon via adult and community learning courses and workshops.

Learn Devon delivers adult and community learning on behalf of Devon County Council.

We run hundreds of courses for adults all across Devon from our four centres, dozens of outreach venues as well as online. Our aim is to increase the economic welfare, social mobility, literacy and numeracy, and health and wellbeing of adults in Devon via adult and community learning courses and workshops.

We cover subjects from English and Maths, digital skills, employability, wellbeing, family learning, art and craft, modern foreign languages to creative writing, English for speakers of other languages and courses for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Our learners are at the heart of everything we do and being an inclusive adult learning service is of upmost priority to us. We work with adults of all ages and from all walks of life, helping them explore their full potential, grow their skills, and ultimately improve their lives.

Our team is diverse, made up of a range of teams such as tutors, learning support, curriculum, customer service and business support. We work together to deliver a service we can all be proud of. Our teams are based in our centres in Exmouth, Tavistock, Newton Abbot and Bideford. Most of us also get to work from home, benefiting from the Devon County Council’s flexible working policy. Roles within our teams include Customer Support Officer, Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Finance Officer, Curriculum Coordinator, Tutor, Learning Support Assistant, Area Coordinator and more.
