Why become a social worker with us?
Social workers are at the heart of our workforce, ensuring that children and their families receive the support and help they need.
In Devon, we’re committed to providing social workers with the support, training and development needed to improve their professional practice.
Our allocations enable you to do meaningful work with local families. Allowing you to focus on the quality of your practice and receive the training, supervision and support to become the best you can be. In addition, you’ll be encouraged to work smarter with access to technology and flexible working. So you can develop the correct work balance to enjoy your life here in Devon.
If you have experience in other social work sectors and wish to broaden your knowledge, you can join our six-month Transition programme. It provides an opportunity for qualified social workers and those registered with Social Work England to move into children’s social care. If you decide to do this, you’ll receive structured support and regular progress reviews with us. Our successful programme has supported many social workers with experience overseas or in different teams such as mental health or adults – join us here in Children’s Services.
