I started working for Devon County Council in 2013 having previously had national and regional roles including in central government. The opportunity to bring my experiences home to Devon and contribute to the place where my family and I live was a real draw, and this has become increasingly important to me.
I genuinely feel that my contribution is valued; I’m encouraged to innovate, develop relationships, myself, and my career, working beyond Devon County Council and with key partners like the NHS.
I’m lucky enough to be able to safely cycle the 20kms to and from work every day and work flexibly at home one day a week. Being able to do this has a huge impact on my wellbeing, contributing significantly to my physical and mental health.
