Job title: Apprenticeships Administrator

Area of work: Apprenticeship Team

I began my career at DCC back in October 2016 as a business and administration apprentice. During this time, I gained a great deal of on the job experience as well as two qualifications in business and administration. The experience and qualifications allowed me to secure permanent employment as an apprenticeship’s administrator in April 2018.

In my role, I help to support the well-established apprenticeship scheme as well as managing both the digital account and the social media accounts. I am supported by a wonderful team and a helpful line manager and have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and meet new people. No two days are ever the same and there is always something different to look forward to.

From my apprenticeship and now my permanent role in HR, I have gained valuable experience that I wouldn’t have got if I went straight to university after College and it as benefited me personally. I am more confident since joining in 2016 and have been involved in many exciting opportunities.

DCC are an excellent employer and I really enjoy the flexibility that working here offers and the fact I can work my hours to fit around my life. Overall, I am pleased that I choose to join the DCC apprenticeship scheme and look forward to further developing my career within the council.
