Job title: Multi Sensory Worker

Area of work: Support Services for Young People

I’ve worked for the Multi-sensory Impairment team since June 2022. I have a background in working in Education as I previously supported children with hearing impairments within mainstream settings.

Since starting with the service I have been able to develop my skills in British Sign Language and have recently qualified at Level 3.  There are lots of opportunities to develop in your role with many training courses on offer.

I am able to transfer my learning within a variety of education settings. I support within 3 different schools, with 3 very different Young People.- No day is the same, which I love!

Social sessions in the community offer new experiences and fun days out! It is nice to share opportunities to get to know what the Young People enjoy and build relationships with them and their families.

I enjoy feeling challenged within my role as it keeps me engaged in my role.  The MSI Team is also very supportive. We have monthly supervisions with team leaders to express any worries or concerns and put forward new targets and CPD opportunities.
