How has the apprenticeship helped you grow personally and professionally?
Since starting the apprenticeship in 2022, I have progressed twice and the apprenticeship has enabled me to develop and challenge myself in ways that wouldn’t have been possible whilst also checking off apprenticeship criteria.
My apprenticeship has helped me appreciate my capabilities and recognise areas I would benefit from developing in and gain exposure to.
What skills have you developed so far?
So far, I have developed my skills in forecasting and scheduling, budget management, procurement, contract management and project change control. These skills have really helped me gain confidence in my ability and allow me to present confidently to a range of audiences.
What support do you receive from your employer and training provider?
Once a week I have a study day where I am either at University or studying from home, this enables me to keep on top on my assignments and workload.
I also have regular review meetings with my line manager and training provider to review progress and discuss any outstanding actions or criteria.
Would you recommend an apprenticeship to others? Why?
I would absolutely recommend an apprenticeship to anyone, they’re a great route into employment that allow you to develop your practical skills whilst earning on the job. Apprenticeships allow flexibility in developing skills and can help people consider possible career routes and progression.
