The recruitment team are responsible for providing all aspects of recruitment services & safer recruitment services. They are key customer and applicant-facing roles, with the primary aim to deliver a comprehensive recruitment service, overseeing timely appointments across all staff groups and levels.

Serving as the first point of contact for individuals from the public expressing interest in employment with Devon County Council and partner organisations. Additionally, they serve as the main point of contact for managers and recruiters seeking expert guidance on advertising strategies and navigating the intricacies of the recruitment process.

They are also responsible for uploading vacancies onto job boards including DCC’s recruitment system. Liaising with the hiring managers, to provide advice on best practice and DCC policy in reference to signposting to job descriptions, adverts, social media, and other recruitment materials. This includes being familiar with employment laws including equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, anti-discrimination laws, and other relevant legislation.

Onboarding successful applicants is a vital part of their work, This includes preparing offer letters, requesting pre- and post-employment checks, and issuing contracts.. Ensure that all new starter information for both external and internal applicants is uploaded in the HR Management System and all other information including pay claims for new starters, movers and temporary workers is updated in to meet payroll deadlines.
