Community Equipment Returns

Devon County Council and the Local Health Service are encouraging people to return equipment instead of throwing it away or leaving it at a recycling centre.

Lower value, small, lightweight, equipment for daily living, such as walking aids, can either be returned by yourself, a friend or family member to the Devon Independent Living Integrated Service (DILIS) or returned to the hospital from where it was issued to you.

Higher value, larger, heavy items of equipment such as beds, mattresses, hoists, chairs, and powered bathing lifts will be collected by Millbrook Healthcare along with small lower value items at the same time if you have those too.

Wheelchairs must be collected by or returned to the NHS contracted wheelchair provider and not Millbrook Healthcare as these are provided via a different and separate contract.

There are four ways you can return your equipment:

  1. Contact the service directly on 0330 124 4491, or email devoncontactus@millbrookhealthcare.co.uk. Your social care or healthcare professional may need to be contacted to confirm that collecting the equipment is advisable.
  2. Inform your carer, social or healthcare professional, who will liaise with Millbrook Healthcare to organise a collection of equipment for you.
  3. Drop off the equipment directly at the service centre at the following address:
Millbrook Healthcare Ltd, Units 5-8, Block B, Jacks Way, Hill Barton Business Park, Clyst St Mary, Exeter, EX5 1FG.
  4. Return equipment to the hospital or office that issued it to you and they will ensure it is returned to the DILIS provider for reuse.

Please note: New equipment drop-off locations are planned, and as soon as these are in place their location will be widely advertised.
