Any waste created by a tradesperson/business at your home will not be accepted at our recycling centres, with the exception of members of the garden and cardboard trade recycling scheme.
If you pay for work to be carried out in your home or garden, it is the responsibility of the tradesperson you have employed to dispose of any waste and the cost of this should be agreed and quoted for before work begins.
You should check that they have a valid waste carrier’s licence and ask them to provide details of where the waste will be taken.
Information for businesses
Businesses must dispose of their waste responsibly. More information about your responsibility is available at GOV.UK – Dispose of business or commercial waste.
Trade and commercial waste is not accepted at any of our recycling centres and we do not provide a trade waste service. The only exception to this is for small businesses who have applied to join our trade recycling scheme for garden and cardboard waste.
Your district, city or borough council may be able to provide a charged-for trade collection.
The Recycle Devon website contains more information about council trade collections and help with finding a private commercial waste company.
