Role description: Assist Stover to make projects for the park such as bird/ bat boxes, benches, items for trails, fixing signs etc, part of the Lottery funded ‘Restoring Stover Park’ project. A friendly group to meet, chat, learn new skills and help Stover.
When: 3 hours every other week, 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month
Where: Stover Community Shed, Stover Country Park
Commitment: On going
Positions available: 6 per session subject to size of the shed (capacity to increase with new build of community shed)
Supported by: Restoring Stover Park – Community Engagement Officer
Tasks and activities:
- Tool use
- Creation of Stover related projects eg. Benches, mud kitchens, bird/ bat boxes, signs, furniture
- Wood work
Training and Skills Received:
- Full induction in tools at Stover Country Park
- On going support
- Peer support
Personal qualities and experience:
- Friendly and reliable
- Good sense of humour
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to follow safety rules
- Interested in aiding the restoration of Stover Country Park
