TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council has made the above titled order.
The order came into force on Thursday 25 September 2025 and would have expired on Tuesday 24 March 2026.
By direction of the Secretary of State in exercise of his powers under Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the order shall continue in force until 25 March 2027 or until works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
No persons shall proceed on the section of the affected path except for access to land or premises on or adjacent to that length of path. The order will continue in force for a period not exceeding six months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
Public right of way affected:
Partial length of Ilfracombe Public Footpath 117, Easterly Beach Access
Ilfracombe Public Footpath 117 temporary closure map
Access to Raparee Cove remains only from the Westerly end.
The temporary closure is necessary in the interest of public safety.
