Operation Encompass is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling early years providers / schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse. Information on the Operation encompass online key adult training.

The Early Years and Childcare Service have developed a model role description for those who are Designated Safeguarding Leads or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads in group based early years and childcare setting and childminding settings.

The Early Years and Childcare Service have developed a model statement about Operation Encompass that providers can adapt and include in their safeguarding/child protection policy.

Between June and August 2024 there were 3 serious incidents of parental neglect in Devon causing harm to children in Devon. Please take time to read the DSCP briefing and discuss it with your staff teams to ensure that you are being professionally curious.
