New nursery opportunities in former childrens centre buildings

Opportunities are now available for childcare providers to establish provision within former children’s centre buildings in Honiton, Sidmouth, and Hatherleigh, where additional places all year for 0–4-year-olds (8am–6pm) are needed.

A competitive tender process will be launched, with application packs available from 22 June 2026 from the website: Opportunities for Development – Information for childcare providers. Packs include full details on buildings, leases, required places and photographs.

Providers may apply for one or more locations. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview and deliver a presentation.

A separate, restricted opportunity is available in Tavistock, open only to existing local providers. While no additional places are currently required, this site offers potential for improved premises and future expansion as demand increases as a result of housing developments.
