Officer Decisions

Strategic Business Services Manager - Matthew Jones

Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:

It is recommended that unused land at Stickepath Hill, Barnstaple (152 square metres) be declared surplus.

Decision Taken:

To declare the land surplus and sell the land to the former owner by private treaty sale.

Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:

The land was acquired by Devon County Council from the former owners for a road scheme in 2007 but not all the land bought was subsequently used for the scheme.  As the only landowner with direct access, the proposal is that the redundant land is sold back to the former owners.

Summary of Alternatives or Options considered and rejected:

To retain and maintain the land at Council expense.

Details of any conflict of interest and dispensation granted to the Officer taking the decision or by any Member of the Council in delegating responsibility for any specific express delegation:

None.
