Young Parents Scheme

I would like to know if you operate a ‘Young Parents Scheme’ in your local authority area. This is a housing scheme for 16-25 year olds where they live in supported accommodation and are able to access help to learn how to cook and live independently. These schemes are usually available for young mums and sometimes dads for up to one year.

I would like to know

1) How many of these schemes you run or have commissioned to be run by private companies in total for each of the following years; 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.
2) I would like to know how many flats are in each of these schemes.
3) I would like to know the names of the schemes.
4) If you don’t run a Young Parents Scheme can you please direct me to any online information you have detailing the support available to young parents.

Devon County Council do not commission a Young Parents Scheme and we therefore do not hold the information you are requesting.

In response to question 4, we can confirm that within children services we can and do provide support, which may include accommodation, to young people some of whom may be parents but that is done on an individual child by child basis. Online information is available for all parents at:
