School admissions process update

The school admissions process for the 2025 primary admissions round has been updated to streamline communication and application procedures.

The Local Authority has discontinued the distribution of UID letters, which were traditionally sent to families to invite them to apply for their child’s school place. Instead, an online Microsoft form is now available for parents and carers to express their interest in applying for a school place. Upon registration, they will receive automated reminders via text or email when the application window opens on 15th November 2024.

Early years providers are encouraged to actively remind parents to apply, especially those who may overlook the process or require additional information. Sharing the link to the Microsoft form and promoting the admissions team’s updates Facebook can significantly aid in ensuring all eligible families are informed and ready to apply within the designated timeframe.
