Wild About Devon 2026
Communities in Devon can apply for up to £500 to fund initiatives that support local wildlife and biodiversity. The Wild About Devon grant scheme recognises the vital role that community action can play in creating long-term benefits for wildlife.
A range of community wildlife projects and activities can be funded. This includes restoring neglected habitats such as grassland or woodland, creating new wildlife areas such as ponds and wildflower meadows or improving the management of parks and green spaces in a way that benefits wildlife.
Your project will need to support the Devon Local Nature Recovery Strategy and you will need to show how your project helps nature by explaining which habitats or species will benefit, and why your chosen project is the best option for your local patch.
All types of community groups with a wildlife focus or wildlife project, which are based in Devon (including Plymouth and Torbay) can apply for this grant. This includes community wildlife groups, Town/Parish councils, church groups, charities, CICs and schools.

Morrisons Foundation
Morrisons Foundation provides capital grants to support the improvement and development of services and facilities through its Connecting Communities programme. The aim of the funding is to:
- breathe new life into local spaces: upgrade and revitalise buildings and outdoor areas
- bring people together: reduce social isolation and foster a strong sense of belonging
- secure the future: ensure vital local services remain open and accessible for generations to come
Registered charities can apply for a grant of up to £20,000 to help them to provide their place-based services to communities. This includes:
- open access spaces (village halls, community centres, sports facilities, community gardens)
- disability and therapeutic centres (riding for disabled people, day centres)
- youth and education (mainstream school PTAs, SEND facilities, play areas, uniformed groups)
- targeted crisis support (women’s refuges, homeless shelters, rehabilitation centres)
- health and wellbeing (hospital charities, bereavement support)
- isolation and cohesion (warm hubs, men’s sheds, elderly services)
The funding is for capital improvements that improve, enhance or protect spaces where these services are offered. This can include renovations and upgrades, small-scale construction, equipment and installations, and transforming outdoor areas.
Only registered charities can apply.
The Morrisons Foundation does not make contributions towards projects that cost more than £20,000 in total to deliver.
