Planning for the new entitlements online sessions – PowerPoint slides available

Thank you to those providers that recently attended our Planning sessions and contributed with your questions. If you were unable to attend you can access the slides here: NEW Funding Entitlements – Information for childcare providers (devon.gov.uk) (under ‘Virtual Information Sessions’).

Further update sessions

We asked providers what they needed next from us and the feedback was that providers found the online updates useful as they gave an opportunity for questions. There are information and developments happening all the time and there will be several topics that we will want to share with providers as we all prepare for the new entitlements.

We have therefore scheduled regular fortnightly ‘update sessions’ that will have a particular focus but will also allow for some discussions around the new entitlements.  We may also have the results from the Consultations for EYFS and funding to share with you as well. If these are well attended we will look to continue these in Spring Term.

Monthly payments

Providers have been advised that Devon Early Years are moving towards monthly payments, and this is due for implementation from the Spring funding period. This won’t change the way in which we collect data and our Headcount and Amendment tasks will require completion in the normal way. You may find it useful to know how your monthly calculations will be made so you know how it will impact on your cashflow from January 2024.

Expressions of Interest for Expansion Funding

We will look to support expansion in any way we can, and we have some funding from DfE to help financially. Please come and talk about your expansion plans and what funding you may require so that we can look at the allocation of Grant funding.

Provider Self-Update and Find Childcare

We shared the Briefing for Providers on the PSU and FIND CHILDCARE Oct.23.docx (sharepoint.com)  with you in the 5th October digest. Our team are busy working behind the scenes to make sure everything is ready for you to use the Provider Self Update (PSU) and for parents to see information about your provision on ‘Find Childcare’ as Pinpoint will no longer be available after 1st December 2023.

The sessions are planned for early December to give you an opportunity to allocate some time to complete your self update and ensure that information about your provision is published for parents to see. Our Early Years and Childcare Advisers will facilitate these sessions (more information will follow nearer the time). Please make a note of the date for completion of the PSU, as once this has been done there is no need to revisit it unless anything changes in your provision!
