Grants available for a new career as a childminder

Do you know someone who is a job seeker, a school leaver, or who is returning to work after starting a family? Could you help us spread the word through your friends family and networks, and encourage them to consider a career in childcare?

There are Government grants to help people cover the costs of starting up as a childminder and are worth either £600 or £1200 depending on whether the person registers with Ofsted or with a Childminder Agency. Childminder start-up grants scheme update: April 2023 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

In Devon, we’re looking to recruit more people into the early years and childcare sector as currently there will be insufficient early years and childcare professionals in place to manage the increase demand when funded childcare for working parents is extended next September 2024, and we need more people to enter the profession.
