Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioners to start January
Learn Devon and Devon Early Years and Childcare Service are working together to offer NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioners (EYP). This will be a full and relevant DfE approved qualification. The course will start in January 2024 with plans to run more courses in the future.
Change to the EYFS framework – 4th January 2024
From the 4th January 2024, two revised frameworks will replace the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Progress update: Provider Self Update
Early Years and Childcare Service hope to launch the Provider Self Update and new Information Directory in early January 2024. We will let you know once the system has gone live.
Stronger Partnership Hub (SPH) South West Training – The Importance of Emotional Regulation
The Stronger Practice Hub (SPH) programme was launched in November 2022, as part of the Department for Education’s Early Years Education COVID-19 Recovery Package. The SPH for the South West will be delivery training on Emotional Regulation in the new year.
Grants available for a new career as a childminder

Doctors in Devon are reminding parents to consult the free HANDi app if they aren’t sure what to do when their child is unwell this winter.

Professionals working with families at an Early Help Level can receive advice and guidance from Locality Officers in their area, about services which can support children and their families to lead a healthy and happy life.

Supporting children’s mental health
Information and guidance from the DfE on supporting babies and children’s mental health. Places available on the 3 hour Mental Health First Aid Awareness training running in Feb and March next year.
