Become a building babies brains community champion!
Would you, or anyone else you know or work with, be interested in joining us on one of our free building babies’ brains workshop series in Devon?
Our workshops have been designed with the idea it takes ‘a village to grow a child’ and we support attendees to gain confidence in ‘passing on’ key messages in the normal conversations you have with carers. Thinking about ‘Doing more with what you already know’.
Building Babies Brains – poster with dates
Who is it for?
This approach is for anyone who support carers or babies and young children in their community. We have toddler group volunteers, early years practitioners, foster carers, peer supporter volunteers, Home-Start volunteers, community builders, pharmacy staff, library staff, franchise staff, childminders, family support workers, perinatal mental health staff etc.
Why me?
- We know how much you already do in your community to support carers and their babies and toddlers to flourish
- You’re such an important part of the community and we’d like to give something back to you by way of inviting you to join us at our FREE Building Babies’ Brain workshops where we help support you to grow your knowledge and confidence in ‘passing on’ messages to parents, carers and communities about baby brain development, bonding and resilience
- Our community focused approach, led by Action for Children, aims to convey to parents, carers and families, key messages about baby brain development using trusted messengers (YOU!)
What will I learn?
- The importance of baby brain development, especially during the vital 0-2 years
- Tools for being in relationships with others, including Dan Hughes “PACE”
- What babies need to build strong, healthy and resilient stress regulation systems
- The importance of self-care for wellbeing
- How this supports communication / speech and language development
- Building confidence in passing this information on widely
- About risk and trauma in the early years, and how to build resilience for lifelong skills.

How will it be delivered?
