Updated version of UKHSA guidance to schools and early years settings during heat episodes
The following guidance advises those working with children on how to reduce the risks of hot weather to the health of people they provide care for: Looking after children and those in early years settings before and during hot weather: teachers and other educational professionals – GOV.UK
Key changes:
- clarifies measures supporting school attendance during periods of hot weather (i.e. ways to manage the heat without the need for school closure)
- aligns with guidance specifying children under 5 are at higher risk during heat episodes.
