Puffins nursery expands to meet growing demand
Puffins of Exeter is proud to announce the expansion of its Sowton nursery, now operating from the Green Park Business Hub on Heron Road. This exciting development marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing high-quality early years education in Exeter.
The newly refurbished nursery has grown from offering 36 places to 74, enabling them to welcome even more families and meet increasing local demand. This expansion comes in response to increasing demand for early years places across Exeter, in line with national efforts to improve childcare accessibility.
The project includes a beautifully transformed baby room, converted from a former canteen space, thanks to the dedication and creativity of our passionate team.
We’re thrilled to see the new space already buzzing with little ones. It’s been a wonderful journey and we’re proud to have created a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Abby Wardle, Director of Business.
The project was brought to life not only by our staff but also by some very enthusiastic tiny helpers—our children—who joined in the planning and decorating, making this a truly community-led transformation.
We are also grateful to Devon County Council for a £3,000 grant from their expansion budget, which supported this growth in line with the Government’s vision to increase access to early years education.
Puffins at Sowton continues to offer inclusive, high-quality care and education, with a strong focus on supporting every child.
We look forward to making many more magical memories in our new space and continuing to serve Exeter’s families with warmth, care and a deep commitment to Early Years education.
