Expanding your provision – provider stories

We hope to follow and share some provider stories with you this term as providers expand their provision for younger children with the new working entitlements.

Hurly Burly Day Nursery in Tiverton share their story in the press release below:

3rd May 2024 Press Release

Following a great start to the new funded places announced by the government, Hurly Burly announces today the launch of 70 new childcare spaces at its flagship nursery in Tiverton.

After acquiring the building from Petroc College this year, Hurly Burly has been able to double its capacity for new funded places for 2 and 3 year olds – including more outdoor space, a sensory room and additional toilets and play areas.

The nursery previously operated from one side of the building on the Petroc College campus but has now expanded to have a nursery on one side and a pre-school on the other with separate entrances and gardens.

Clare Berry, Managing Director, said “The expansion has been transformative and meant that we can double in size and offer more local families the extended childcare they need and are now entitled too. We have a new heating and air con system, more classrooms and are able to teach inside and outside in all weathers, which the children love. Our new space is great news for the local area and for families who may have struggled to find childcare as spaces fill up. We now have 3 new classrooms dedicated to new funded families and children.”

Hurly Burly has been established in Tiverton since January 2015 and has grown into a 144-space nursery from children from 6 weeks to school age.
