On 13 July 2026 the Department for Education (DfE) published updated EYFS frameworks for childminders and group and school-based providers, which apply from 1 September 2026.

Early years providers are encouraged to share information about the Priority Services Register (PSR) with families and staff who may benefit from additional support during utility supply interruptions.

We would like to congratulate Devon Childminder Hannah Watts, Helping Hands Childminding, who received the Childminder of the Region award from Coram-Pacey.

Due to the Crime and Policing Act 2026, there is a change to regulated activity which will come into force in September 2026. The change affects settings which rely on volunteers.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is is looking into childcare services, and is making a call for evidence from families, providers and professionals, and other interested parties.

As part of Devon’s Best Start in Life programme, free Togetherness (Solihull) training will be available from September 2026 for practitioners and managers working with children and families across Devon.
