Officer Decisions

Chief Officer for Highways, Infrastructure Development and Waste - David Whitton

Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:

The Castle Primary School is due to be rebuilt by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) as part of the Priority Schools Building Programme.

Decision Taken:

Approved

Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:

Within the school grounds there is a dilapidated former school house that requires significant structural repair and is not fit to occupy.  The EFA have offered to include the demolition of the former school house within their contract for the demolition of the old school buildings.  An allocation of £40,000 had previously been allowed within the Capital Programme.  The EFA have subsequently advised that their revised estimate is now £52,000.

Authority is requested to increase the allocation for this project by £12,000, funded from savings on the above schemes.
