Officer Decisions

Chief Officer for Highways, Infrastructure Development and Waste - Meg Booth

Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:

Hatherleigh Community Primary School – Retaining Wall Remedial Works

Decision Taken:

Approved

Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:

£19,000 has previously been approved for this project at Hatherleigh Community Primary.

The tender has recently been returned at £29,000 and detailed examination has identified significantly higher costs for excavation and reinforcement than was anticipated. This trend is across all tenders and therefore is deemed to be market forces/pricing. Additional high costs have been identified for resurfacing works and this is due to lack of suitable adjacent surface to tie into.

Approval is sought for an additional £10,000 funded from the Major Unforseen Maintenance Indemnity Scheme (MUMIS).
