1 . Can you confirm if you do or do not place in unregulated children’s homes?
We don’t. There are no unregulated childrens homes. Under the Care Standards Act 2000 all children’s homes are required to register with Ofsted. Any children’s home service not registered and providing service would be classified as an ‘unregistered’ service and therefore illegal. Devon County Council would not place a young person into an unregistered illegal children’s home.
