Ukrainian government grant

My request is to seek full disclosure of the way the Government Grant of £10,500 per Ukrainian refugee (which I believe is the correct figure), that has arrived in to the Devon County Council Area has been distributed and spent.

The government has made available a grant of £10,500 per guest for a year under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.  It is claimable in areas by the top tier (Devon County Council) each quarter.  The first claim was submitted by 13th June 2022. Cash claimed has been received by Devon County Council and has been distributed to the District Councils in accordance with our financial agreement.  Full details of the scheme are available at Homes for Ukraine: guidance for councils – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

In Devon, as advocated by the Guidance, an agreement has been reached between Districts and County that the money will be distributed on receipt: 60% directly to Districts (per head claimed by them) 15% to County and 25% held by County as a contingency.

Money is being spent on £200 cash to each guest on arrival, wrap around supporting – commissioned from the third sector at district level, English as a Second or Other Language tuition across the whole of Devon. A considerable amount is expected to be needed as relationships break down and guests are needing to be accommodated elsewhere.

Each district has autonomy as to how to use the funds to support guests in their areas.
