1.How have you risk assessed that stretch of the road?

The School Crossing Patrol site is assessed annually and notes hazards, risks, issues and observations, mainly in connection with the operation of the School Crossing Patrol Service. Additionally, county wide collision  data and trends are monitored using Routes Analysis Methodology and Collision Cluster Site Methodology to identify any routes and/or areas of concern. More information is available on the Collision Data webpages  https://www.devon.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/safe-travel/road-safety/collision-data/

2. How have you deemed the risks you have identified to be managed?

No. The Council welcomes any enquires or applications for the vacant School Crossing Patrol position

5. In short, when is the safety ever going to be supported by DCC in a meaningful long term fashion?

The Council’s Road Safety webpages https://www.devon.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/safe-travel/road-safety/ give an indication of their road safety measures. Devon County is a partner within Vision Zero South West – a collaborative project between a number of organisations across Devon and Cornwall and a commitment to cut the number of deaths and serious injuries in the region to zero.
