The contract initial term was until 31st March 2021 however we extended until 31st March 2024.

Service description

Haulage of Mid-Devon District Council’s (MDDC’s) Residual and Garden Waste from their Transfer Station located on Hitchcocks Business Park, Willand.

Start data

1st December 2018.

End date

Initial term ended 31st March 2021. Subject to mutual agreement, an extension of a maximum of 36 further months beyond the Initial Term was available. Devon County Council and Viridor agreed to an extension ending 31st March 2024.

Duration and possible extension periods

The contract will end on 31st March 2024.

£130,000 (annual).

Main waste facility/facilities used

Waste is collected from MDDC Transfer Station at Hitchcocks Business Park, Willand.

Garden waste is transported to Coastal Organics, Hill Barton Business Park, Clyst St Mary, Exeter, Devon, EX5 1DR.

Residual waste is transported to either:

  • Exeter Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), Grace Road South, Marsh Barton Industrial Estate, Exeter, Devon, EX2 8QE.
  • MVV Devonport Energy Recovery Facility, Creek Road, Plymouth, Pl5 1FL.
