Planning Applications and Staff Numbers 2014-2019

1. The number of planning applications received in each of the last five years (2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19).

This information is publicly available on the Government website.  A summary is also provided.

2. The number of planning applications in each of those years, excluding major developments, which took longer than eight weeks for a determination to be made.

3. The number of staff employed in the planning department in each of those years.

2014 – 15:  16 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

2105 – 16:  17 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

2016 – 17:  15 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

2017 – 18:  17 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

2018 – 19:  16 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

Please be aware that not all members of staff who work in Planning deal with planning applications, and those that do, also have other responsibilities.  Planning is an agile team, so there is no correlation between number of staff and numbers of planning applications dealt with.

4. The current number of planning applications being considered by your authority which have been awaiting determination for more than eight weeks (as per June 10, 2019).”
