Devon County Council’s response to a previous FOI request indicated that Planning Application No 02/11797/90 dated 4th July 1990, relating to a by-pass at St. John’s Chapel, was rescinded in October 2021.
I should be grateful if you would inform me as follows:-
1) Who signed off the cancellation?
2) Which Department was involved?
3) What reasons were presented to negate the Planning Application?
Whilst a formal decision may have been made not to proceed with the by-pass scheme Devon County Council holds no information relating to your request for information.
By way of providing advice and assistance, as can be seen on this minute extract and this report, the time for the commencement of the by-pass development was extended for a further five years in 1998. However, the development was not commenced and the planning permission lapsed.
