Please provide the following information held by Devon County Council in its capacity as support to the Devon Health and Wellbeing Board for the purposes of the Devon Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment.
1. The most recent figure held for the number of dwellings completed and/or occupied at the Sherford new town development, as monitored for the purposes of the future need for pharmaceutical services identified in the Devon PNA in relation to Sherford town centre (identified as arising at 2,500 occupied dwellings), together with the date of that figure and its source.
South Hams District Council strategic planning department confirmed 1,734 dwelling completions at the Sherford development at the 2026 monitoring point (31 March 2026).
2. Confirmation of whether, as at the date of your response, the Health and Wellbeing Board considers the 2,500-dwelling trigger to have been met, and if not, any projection held for when it will be met.
The Devon Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) states that pharmaceutical provision at Sherford would be reviewed if the number of occupied dwellings reached or exceeded 2,500. Based on the most recent information supplied by South Hams District Council Planning department, there are 1,734 dwelling completions as of 31 March 2026, and therefore the 2,500-dwelling threshold has not been met. Devon County Council does not hold separate occupancy figures and does not hold projections for when the 2,500-dwelling threshold will be reached. Consequently, Devon County Council does not expect a further annual monitoring figure from South Hams Strategic Planning department to be available until the 2027 monitoring point (31 March 2027).
3. Copies of any supplementary statements issued to the Devon PNA since its publication that relate to Sherford or the South Hams district, and any information held on whether a supplementary statement relating to Sherford is planned or under consideration.
