Management of Media Files

1. Please provide an electronic copy of any policies, procedures, or guidance issued to staff concerning the management of electronic media files on your network infrastructure.

Devon County Council has not produced policies which specifically cover the management of electronic media on our network infrastructure.  The Council has produced and communicated Records Management Guidance.

Devon County Council can confirm we hold the information you have requested.  We consider this information is exempt from disclosure under Section 31(1)(a) Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Disclosure of the information would be likely to reveal information that could be used by a cyber threat actor. This would increase the chances of targeting a successful cyber-attack against Devon County Council.

However, we consider there is a stronger public interest in the council maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its IT infrastructure.  For this reason, we consider the balance of public interest is best served by withholding this information.
