1. Please list the local authorities that have notified you they are making out-of-area placements of looked after children in 2019, 2020 and so far in 2021 (Jan to Dec), including the total number of children sent from each local authority? Please supply the figures in a spreadsheet.
We are able to provide an answer to question 1 for 2021 up until the end of October as there is a backlog in entering data since this time. For 2020 & 2019 we are not able to give an answer as the data was recorded differently. During this time both Child Protection & Child in Care (CiC) children from other local authorities (OLA) were recorded in the same way and therefore to get the numbers of CiC only we would need to manually review each one. This would involve reviewing over 700 records, which at an average of 3 mins per record would be in excess of 18hours. This is in excess of the appropriate time limit and we are therefore not obliged to provide this information pursuant to s.12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
