We do not record the numbers who have missed one payment. Our monitoring of arrears commences at 12 weeks (i.e. 2 payments missed). There are 1,045 cases in this category from Q1.

How many of the people referred to in response to question 1 currently have debt management procedures commenced against them by the council for non-payment of social care charges (i.e. any escalation in debt recovery, e.g. automated reminders, letter before action and referral to debt collection agency)?

All 1,045 cases will have received automated / standard reminders.

4. How many of the people referred to in response to question 3 have had their current debts referred to a debt collection agency?

None. Devon County Council do not refer Community Care Debt to debt collection agencies.

In 2019/20, 1,135 clients (22.2%) who had a review of their needs had their package of care reduced based on the outcome of the agreed discussions (this includes clients whose package of care ended).

In 2019/20, 2,393 clients (46.8%) who had a review of their needs had their package of care increased based on the outcome of the agreed discussions (this includes clients starting a new package of care).

In 2021/22 (as of 30.09.2021), 1,501 clients have been reviewed who were in receipt of Long-Term support.

In 2021/22 (as of 30.09.2021), 352 (23.5%) clients who had a review of their needs had their package of care reduced based on the outcome of the agreed discussions (this includes clients whose package of care ended).

In 2021/22 (as of 30.09.2021), 543 clients (36.2%) who had a review of their needs had their package of care increased based on the outcome of the agreed discussions (this includes clients starting a new package of care).
