Household Support Fund for vulnerable households

Please state how much money, if any, has been distributed by your local authority from the Household Support Fund (HSF) for vulnerable households since October 2021 up to and including June 2022.  The information provided should include the disbursement of/requests for any additional funds made available to the local authority as part of the March 2022 Spring Statement extension of the Household Support Fund.

HSF is paid to Devon County Council (DCC) in arrears from the Department for Work and Pensions based on Management Information (MI) returns, so currently (as at 19/05/22) the HSF that has been spent/committed/allocated by DCC to date equates to

Household Support Fund 1 – £ 4,892,726.00 – MI Return (April 2022)

Household Support Fund 2 – £ 4,363,591.42 – this is allocated spend to support gateways, and is subject to change up until the Management Information (July & October 2022) is received from the various support gateways who will deploy the funds.

Also provide the most recent available total (including the date of that total) of the amount of cash still available for disbursement in the local authority’s Household Support Fund.

£701,284.70 this is unallocated spend as at 19/05/22 , and is subject to change up until the Management Information (July & October 2022) is received from the various support gateways who will deploy the funds.

Please also state the number of local households, if any, who have benefited.

We do not hold data on the number of households benefitting but hold the number of awards provided to households.

The latest Management Information Return (April 2022) = 173,754 household awards were made.

Also please provide information on the number of individual requests for assistance through the Fund that the council has received and the number of individual grants made.

Data on the number of individual requests (successful/unsuccessful) received is not held by DCC (as various support gateways disperse the funds) but the latest data on the number of individual awards actually made stands at 173,754 household awards
