Please provide information relating to the assessment carried out by Devon County Council regarding flooding at the Old Railway Bridge Halwill Junction, reported on the 22nd November 2022 (Ref No W231574970 and Ref no 221556078)
Devon County Council does not hold information such as a formal report on the assessment of this problem, however, the following summary was made by the manager of the local highway team:
“Flood water was at its peak around 5 foot in depth, we attempted a clean/jet at one point but to no avail. It was then too dangerous to attempt a further clean so we shut the road to allow the water level to reduce. As rain has only really stopped for 2 days the local Highway Officer will be revisiting it shortly to see if a clean can now be undertaken.”
