Are your energy bills for council-run children’s residential homes in your local authority protected by the price cap?

How do you expect council-run children’s residential homes in your local authority in England and Wales to operate this winter when taking into account the additional energy charges on the way?

In response to the further questions, we can confirm that Devon County Council use the purchase in advance model, with the pricing fixed on an annual basis from 1st October to 30th September each year. The homes owned by NHS Properties do not use the same model, although they employ a low-medium risk approach to take advantage of low prices. We will expect to see an 8% increase to charges for electricity costs during 22/23, and a 38% increase to gas charges.

We do not expect to see any changes to the way the homes are run during this winter, apart from good practice in terms of minimising wastage.
