Cost allocated cycling infrastructure 2018/19

Further to your previous disclosure of spending on cycling infrastructure for previous years, are you just able to see if you have a 2018/19 figure allocated for Q3?

Devon County Council can confirm that budget allocation for the year ahead is not broken down by quarters so we do not have the information you have requested.

However, we can confirm that for the entire financial year 2018/19 based on the 2018/19 Cabinet transport capital programme report, we have allocated £2.525m* + we estimate that approximately £1.0m of the £2.973m allocated for the NPIF Exeter Eastern Growth Area will be for cycle improvements (extension of E4 and Co-Bikes expansion). In total, approximately £3.5m has been allocated for cycle improvements across the County in financial year 2018/19.

This obviously only relates to capital expenditure and takes no account of improvements secured alongside maintenance of the highway.

*this figure is calculated by summing all of the cycle-related capital schemes listed in the Cabinet report appendix – note that £108K of the £185K allocated for Barnstaple Long Bridge / Seven Brethren is for cycle infrastructure.
