All social workers adhere to the Social Work Professional Standards. A copy can be obtained direct from the Social Work England website.
What specific duty/responsibility (openness, transparency, accountability) is imposed on Devon County Council (DCC) staff holding different roles?
As nurses, occupational therapists and chartered psychologists can also be AMHPs, they would need to adhere to their individual codes of professional practice. Currently, DCC only has social workers as AMHPs in Devon.
The AMHP competencies are found in statutory regulations (The Mental Health (AMHP) Regulations 2008, Schedule 2, Regulation 3(2)) and it is these that the Local Authority must assure itself are met by the individual when approving or re-approving them as AMHPs.
