Bridleway Newton St Cyres

Please can you provide me with the following information about the rebuilding of Bridleway no 2 at Tinpit Hill, Newton St Cyres in 2021/22.

1. The name of the Company chosen to do the work.

James Ayre, Exe Valley Plant Hire

2. Details of the DCC Tender for the work including the contract specification for the rebuilding of this Bridleway.

Works were instructed using the Public Rights of Way Maintenance and Improvement Framework 2021-25. This was set up using a competitive process.

Works were identified and overseen by the Devon County Council area warden. The specification was;

From its north end at Keepers cottage for approximately 500metres

-Dig out wet mud and sludge

-Hard cut back of vegetation to expose ditches and grips.

-Clean out ditches and grips to ensure drainage.

-build up and provide a free draining foundation using clean gabion type stone , where required

-blind with planings from Cartaway landing.

3. If this was not a competitive tender why was a competitive process not used?

As above. The Public Rights of Way Maintenance and Improvement Framework 2021-25 was established through a competitive process.

4. The gross cost of this scheme to the County Council

£17,043.50

5. The net cost of the scheme to the County Council less any third party contribution
