Regarding Bridge Road Kingswear, I note that routine maintenance inspections recorded no defects in Bridge Road over the months from February 2025 to March 2026. This raises questions on how potholes are repaired given the road has several patches. The CSM results also supplied for the period from 24th October to 19th December record only one pothole which is toward Hillhead.
However, you have an online pothole reporting tool which allows one to report potholes with their approximate location. When I tried to report my pothole incident in December there were already two records in the approximate location of my incident. Where is this information?
The “Defects” tab on this spreadsheet provides details of all confirmed safety defect potholes, in accordance with the Council’s Highway Safety Policy , on Bridge Road for the period of the last financial year (April 2025 to March 2026) following either a planned Highway Safety Inspection or assessment of a public report of a pothole.
The “Reports” tab on the spreadsheet provides details of all public reports of potholes for the same period on Bridge Road, and the results of the assessment. Publicly reported potholes will show on Report a problem – Roads and transport until they have been assessed by an inspector. If they are assessed not to be a safety defect, the report will no longer show online. If they are assessed to be a safety defect they will show as “Pothole with Contractor for repair” until the repair is completed.
