I am seeking details related to your council’s procurement and expenditures in social care. I kindly request the following information:
1. The total number of care packages awarded to agencies for adult social care and child social care services between January 1 and June 30.
For adult social care, there were 6,639 packages of care started between 01/01/2024 and 30/06/2024. These were arranged for 4,468 unique clients.
For childrens social care, between the timeframe of 01/01/2024 and 30/06/2024, we had 47 children that came into care that were initially supported by an independent provider. We can only provide the number of children that came into care between the 2 periods supported by an independent provider and we don’t hold information on how it was deemed that an independent provider was linked/associated/awarded to them.
2. The current number of suppliers or agencies categorized under Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 within your procurement framework for adult social care services and then children social care services.
Devon County Council (DCC) do not hold a tiering system for adults or childrens suppliers in any of the contracts.
3. The anticipated dates when the council plans to next go to market for the procurement of social care services, separately for adults and
children.
For adult social care, please see the following link to the published work plan for Devon County Council (DCC) Devon Procurement Services. These are updated 6 monthly.
For childrens social care, residential is not currently anticipated before 2027, fostering is not currently anticipated before 2027 and supported living is Spring 2025.
4. The name of the framework being used to source suppliers for adult and child social care services, including complex care, mental health, and learning disabilities.
