Devon County Council published an Electric Vehicle Charging Position Statement in 2021.

Devon County Council has recently consulted on a Draft Devon Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy. This document has not been adopted.

3. Have you considered fleet needs in the rollout of public EV infrastructure in the local authority?

No

4. How many meetings/workshops/engagement sessions have you had about EV charging infrastructure with the following stakeholders:

  1. Chargepoint operators/installers
  2. Local residents
  3. Fleet operators
  4. Other local authorities

As part of the aforementioned Devon Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy consultation a webinar aimed at members of the public was held on 22nd November 2022 (7 attended) and a webinar aimed at businesses and organisations was held on 6th December 2022 (6 attended). Please note that both webinars were open to all. A separate briefing was held with South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council at their request.

As part of the Deletti project we have shared knowledge with 10 local authorities and held a market engagement day with 19 charge point operators/installers attending.

5. Do you have a mechanism to share knowledge/best practise or offer support around EV charging infrastructure to those stakeholders from Q5?

Officers have been sharing knowledge with local authorities primarily through introductions made by organisations such as Cenex and Energy Saving Trust. Devon County Council officers, when budget and capacity allows, have been attending EV sector events and presenting on experiences to date.

6. Do you have a dedicated member of staff responsible for public EV infrastructure rollout (i.e it is part of their job description/written responsibilities)?
