Adults with Downs Syndrome and Social Care

1. How many adults living with Downs Syndrome (primary or secondary condition) have a DCC eligible needs social care plan.

2. For client group identified in 1, please provide the range of weekly gross cost of assessed care and support needs (covering the combined cost of direct provision, personal budgets and/or Direct payments).

3. For client group identified in 1, please provide the mean average, lower quartile and upper quartile gross cost of assessed care and support needs (covering the combined cost of direct provision, personal budgets and/or Direct payments).

Devon County Council (DCC) believes compliance with this request would exceed the appropriate costs limit under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 which is £450 or 18 hours of officer time. This is because the only record of this information is in a free text field. To comply with this request we would have to look at thousands of records and examine each free text field. Even allowing five minutes per record, this would take well in excess of the the 18 hour limit.
